Pitru Paksha

Pitru Paksha is one of the most important festivals of Hindus. Pitru Paksha falls on the dark fortnight of Ashvina i.e. September-October as per the English calendar. Pitru Paksha is also known as Mahalaya Paksh. It is a divine occasion to perform rituals for the deceased ancestors to keep their souls obliged for years. Pitru Pakshaa is performed for the departed immediate relatives usually up to preceding three generations. In other words these rituals are performed by the descendants of departed relative in order to keep their soul at rest.

About Pitru Paksha

Pitru Paksh is the occasion to repay debt to our departed ancestors by satisfying their souls by performing rituals. There is a notion in the Hindu society that the dead ones would alive amongst us and to keep their souls obliged a ritual called “Shraddh” is performed. It is believed that Yamaraja, the Lord of death allows the souls to come down to the earth and receive offers from their descendants. This practice is made to the dead termed as “pitris” as per Hindu religion. The last day of this period, the new moon day, is considered as the most important day in the year for performing obsequies and rites.
Pitra Paksha is performed from the 1st day of the Ashwin month and goes up to the following New Moon (Amavasya) day. Each of these 15 days is dedicated to the Shraddh of those ancestors who had met eternity on that particular day.

रविवार ३० सितम्बर पर २०१२ शुरू होता है और १५ तक अक्टूबर तक रहता है। 

पितृ पक्ष हिंदुओं का सबसे महत्वपूर्ण त्योहारों में से एक है।  पितृ पक्ष अंग्रेजी कैलेंडर के अनुसार अश्विना सितम्बर - अक्टूबर यानी अंधेरे पखवाड़े पर गिर जाता है. पितृ पक्ष भी महालया पक्ष के रूप में जाना जाता है। यह एक दिव्य मृत पूर्वजों के लिए अनुष्ठान करने के लिए साल के लिए बाध्य आत्माओं रखने का अवसर है। पितृ पक्षा दिवंगत तत्काल रिश्तेदारों के लिए किया जाता है आमतौर पर तीन पीढ़ियों पूर्ववर्ती. दूसरे शब्दों में इन अनुष्ठानों दिवंगत रिश्तेदार के वंश द्वारा प्रदर्शन कर रहे हैं क्रम में आराम करने के लिए उनकी आत्मा रखने के लिए। 

पितृ पक्ष के बारे में

पितृ पक्ष अनुष्ठान से उनकी आत्मा को संतोषजनक द्वारा अपने दिवंगत पूर्वजों के लिए ऋण चुकाने का अवसर है। हिंदू समाज में एक धारणा है कि मृत लोगों को जिंदा हमारे बीच होता है और रखने के लिए उनकी आत्मा श्राद्ध "प्रदर्शन कहा जाता है की रस्म करने के लिए बाध्य है. यह माना जाता है कि यमराज, मृत्यु के देवता आत्माओं पृथ्वी के नीचे आने के लिए और उनके वंश से प्रस्ताव प्राप्त करने की अनुमति देता है। इस अभ्यास के रूप में हिंदू धर्म के अनुसार मृत रूप में "पितृस" करार दिया करने के लिए किया जाता है। इस अवधि के अंतिम दिन, नया चाँद दिन, दफ़न संस्कार और प्रदर्शन के लिए वर्ष में सबसे महत्वपूर्ण दिन के रूप में माना जाता है। 

पितृ पक्ष अश्विन महीने के १ दिन से किया जाता है और निम्नलिखित नई चंद्रमा दिन (अमावस्या) तक जाता है। इन १५ दिनों के प्रत्येक उन पूर्वजों जो उस विशेष दिन पर अनंत काल से मुलाकात की थी श्राद्ध के लिए समर्पित है।
